I Love Water Polo Team Manager

The ‘I Love Water Polo’ Team Manager (one per each of the nine teams) is a relatively small job. Their role is to facilitate communication between the players and their parents, and the club.  This job could be shared by husband and wife or two friends.  The Team Manager will be provided with regularly updated team lists (including contact information such as phone, address, e-mail for each player) and will be notified of events, etc. by the ILWP Executive Director.

Primary tasks:

Deal with parents so coaches can focus on coaching.  Relay messages from       ‘I Love Water Polo’ organizers to parents and players.  Provide feedback from parents.  Be a point of contact for parents.

Help with registration and recruitment for their home pool, where necessary.

Find parent volunteers for approximately three weeks per year to do pool set-up and take down for Sunday Night League Games.

If we decide to host an ILWP tournament or water polo-a-thon fundraiser, the Team Managers would provide support to these functions.

No water polo experience is required! Parent needs to commit to coming to practices and league nights (not every week but fairly frequently, or at least at the beginning or end of a practice/ game if there is a need to speak to parents).  Needs access to e-mail.  Supports the coaches with small administrative tasks.  Phones out to team if last minute changes or emergencies (for example a last-minute cancellation at pool due to mechanical problems or pool fouling).
