Police Record Checks for Parent Volunteers/ Chaperones. Parents: if there is any chance that you might be volunteering with our players this season (as a Team Manager, Chaperone, etc) and you don't already have a valid Police Record Check on file with the club, we ask that you complete an application (English, French). Your completed application can be submitted with the supporting documents to Deanna Barry, General Manager, at your earliest convenience. If you have a police check on file with the club that was done in the last five years, you do not have to apply for a new police check. Because we have not-for-profit status, if we send these in under Club auspices, we can have the check done at no cost. The results will be mailed directly to you by Ottawa Police, and we ask that you provide the original or a photocopy to Deanna once it's received. Please provide application to Deanna in person, or mail to Titans Water Polo, Box 210, 1411A Carling Avenue, Ottawa, ON K1Z 1A7.

Titans Summer 2007 Water Polo Camp. Registration is underway for the 2007 Titans Summer Water Polo Camp, taking place the week of August 20-24 2007 at Nepean Sportsplex. The Camp is organized upon the principles of the Canadian model of Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD). For those of you not familiar with our camp, it's not to be missed! Maximum registration is 120 athletes (from 'I Love Water Polo' through Youth ages). Get a head start on the 2007/ 2008 competitive season. Get fit. Polish your skills. Have fun! Many guest clinicians and coaches will join us, and will be announced as we get closer to camp. Don't leave registration to the last minute, as the Camp has filled up the last few summers by early July. It's first-come, first-served, as completed registration forms and payment are received.
For current Titans competitive athletes, those born in 1994 and 1995 should register in the Academy Advanced group. Those born in 1996-1998 should register in the Academy Developing group. Some exceptions will be made by Head Coach David Hart, based on ability, level of play and experience. If unsure, please inquire with Deanna. Please note that once Camp starts, there may be some shuffling of athletes in the groupings to ensure everyone is in a level that is appropriate for them.
A number of out-of-town players from other clubs across Ontario and Quebec will join us for this action-packed week. Please consider hosting one of these players in your home during the week of camp. They don't need their own room. A mattress on the floor will suffice! You can indicate your willingness to host a player by making a note on the registration form or by contacting Deanna.
A brochure and registration information is available here. For further information on Summer Camp, contact Deanna Barry at

The Titans’ year-end banquet in June is our club’s occasion for recognizing our outstanding athletes and volunteers. In spring 2007, there will be a new award, named in honour of our Head Coach. The David Hart Coach of the Year Award will go to the Titans coach who best exemplifies Coach Hart’s commitment to coaching, fair play and the Ottawa Titans’ coaching mission statement. A cash donation to the winning coach’s charity of choice is included in the award.

K-W International Youth Tournament , October 6-9
Coach Pierre Fiset took a mixed team of Tiger Sharks and Great White Sharks boys to Kitchener–Waterloo for the Thanksgiving weekend. The Titans won silver with 3 wins, 1 tie and 1 loss. The Titans biggest challenge was the game against Serbia, who powered their way unbeaten to the gold medals. Tournament results and photos can be found at: http://www.kwwaterpolo.com/ This event was part of the K-W club’s 30th Anniversary celebration and the K-W folks were terrific hosts to the Titans drivers/chaperones and to the boys, who were billeted with local families. Thank you, K-W Water Polo!

David Hart has retired from his position as Head Coach of the Junior Women's National Team, Water Polo Canada announced on September 8. After a 37 year water polo career from 1969-2006, David is leaving international water polo duties and the Head Coaching position with the Junior Women. David cites his father's health and the desire to spend more time with his parents as the reason making this difficult decision. However, David is still very much the Head Coach of Titans Water Polo. " I am now going to focus my energy on the Ottawa Titans and hopefully work with Water Polo Canada in helping shape the future of the sport by building a much larger base of participation at the 12 and under age group...the group I am really having more and more fun to work with and to inspire.
