Volunteers Needed to Help With Events and Free Clinics

With the help of a Communities in Action Fund grant, Jen Hampton has been hired as a Summer Coordinator for Titans Water Polo, to organize free introductory clinics, get us into some city parks/ aquatics events and to generally promote the 'I Love Water Polo' program in an effort to recruit new participants for the coming season.

ATHLETES- are you interested in helping out with free clinics or at events on parks? She can use helpers for demonstrations and coaching. A great way for high school students to sign off some volunteer hours. Please contact Jen directly at franki006@hotmail.com if you would like to help out.

PARENTS- our ILWP brochures will soon be in and we urgently need to get them out into the community. If you can help with distribution of brochures and posters in your workplace or in local public places, please contact General Manager Deanna Barry at INFO@titanswaterpolo.ca.

After five gruelling weeks of centralization training in Toronto, Rebekka Steenkamer and Evie Marshall were named to the final roster for the Junior Women's National team. They will depart with the team on July 21 for Junior Pan Am Championships in Brazil. Special mention goes out to Maria Lapins who hung in until the final cut.  http://www.waterpolo.ca/Images/National%20Team%20Files/Junior/Junior%20Women%20Team%20Announcement%20Press%20Release.doc

After a similar centralization for the boys in Hamilton, John Conway was successful in claiming a spot with the Junior Men's National team. John leaves on July 16 for Sao Paolo, Brazil, where the Canadians will train with the Brazil Junior National Team and then participate in the Junior Pan Am games.  No formal announcement has been made yet, but we expect that one will soon be posted on the Water Polo Canada website.
