IMPORTANT Meeting for AA
and AAA Parents and Athletes, Sunday, June 22
For any athletes (and their
parents) who plan to be part of the AA or AAA competitive programme
next season (ages 16+U or 18+U age groups, or those thinking they may
'play up' from Bantam), there are meetings scheduled for
Sunday, June 22, Carleton University, Norm Fenn Building Room
1410 (the old athletics building adjacent to the newly built one).
-
8:30-9:30am- BOYS
and their parents (boys in Supplementary Training have permission to
stay at the meeting and miss first 15 minutes of the practice, if they
wish).
-
11:30am-12:30pm- GIRLS
and their parents
We will provide a detailed explanation
of the programme plans, training schedule and team selection process for
the upcoming competitive season. Letters of invite will go out the
following week to athletes.
Please try to
attend this meeting. It is critical that parents and athletes have a good
understanding of the upcoming season's
programmes.

Help
Needed Over the Summer!
One of our strategies for the coming season is
to grow the ILWP/ Academy portion of our Club, in order to ensure we can
remain sustainable at all levels.
We plan to do some recruitment for our Academy
and ILWP athletes over the summer and we need your assistance- you do
NOT have to be a family currently involved in the ILWP or Academy
programs to participate.
-
Are you a parent who could help with
distribution of flyers and posters in an area of the City? (this is
unskilled labour, we just need the donation of your time!)
-
Or with writing short articles for local
papers?
-
Are you familiar with Microsoft Publisher
software, and could help update our ILWP brochure?
-
Are you an athlete you could help with
demonstrations at free clinics and the occasional special event?
These are only some of the many ways we can
really use your help this summer! Please contact General Manager Deanna
Barry at 613-741-1224 or

Titans Awards Banquet a
Big Success!
Submitted by Bev Davis and Judy
Thomas, Banquet Co-Chairs
This year's banquet capped the end of
another successful water polo season for the Titans club. It was
great to see so many athletes, parents, special guests and
club members three to celebrate our successes. We want to thank
you for supporting the live and silent auctions as well as the 50-50
draw - athletes Simon Mills, Aidan Robern, Emma Jackson and Maria
Lapins were very successful in selling 50-50 tickets! We raised the most
money ever! A big thank you to them.
Many thanks to
others who also helped make the banquet a success, in particular,
Paul Walker for being our official photographer, Biljana Pavicevic for
the superb slideshow, Clem Pelot for taking on the emcee job for another
year, and those who helped with the silent auction, notably
Joan Schwarzfeld and Diane Tushingham. Additional volunteers
included Liz Parsons, Alka Steenkamer, Lynne Bullied and some others who
stepped in at the last minute. We really appreciate your assistance. Of
course everything ran smoothly again this year because of the "behind
the scenes" work of Deanna in organizing the tickets and the awards.
Thank you Deanna! Photos, when available, will be posted at the
Titans website under the new
Honours
Section. Have a good summer everyone!
