Titans Cup Bantam Tournament
URGENT-
We are seeking a volunteer Tournament
Director (or two Co-Directors) for the
annual Titans Cup Bantam tournament that
we host, this year being held January
25-27 at Nepean Sportsplex. You don't have
to have experience with tournaments, you
just need to have good organizational
skills. We have lots of templates and
support, but do require some parent
volunteers to organize this event. Please
contact Deanna, at 613-741-1224 or
INFO@titanswaterpolo.ca
for further information.
Titans Cadet
Invitational
Submitted by Bev Davis, Tournament Director
The Titans Cadet Invitational is coming up
on February 1-3 at Nepean
Sportsplex. My name is Bev Davis and
I will be the Tournament Director for this
year's event. We are looking forward to an
exciting weekend with 16 teams competing
from across Canada! We need your
help to make this tournament a success.
It's important to get volunteers in place
early to allow ample time
for planning and good
organization.
A big thank you to those who
have already come forward to volunteer.
There are still a number of activities
that need volunteers. Below are some of
the major positions that need to be
filled. I hope you can help out:
Hospitality suite coordinator and
volunteers (the suite provides snacks
for referees, coaches and minor officials)
Someone is needed to prepare a list
of food, to solicit donations from
parents, and to schedule
volunteers to help out during the
tournament with set up, stocking, clean
up, etc . Templates are
available from previous years.
Deck set up and take down:
ensures there are volunteers to help set
up nets, set up chairs and tables for
minor officials, ensure playing clocks
are in place, ensure warm-up lanes are
available for teams, and take things
down at the end of the tournament.
A coordinator is needed to oversee this
activity and find and schedule
volunteers.
On-deck Coordinator:
this person ensures minor officials are on
deck, ready for shifts, manages deck
traffic, tracks warm up balls, ensures
spectators are not on the deck,
etc.
This person would need to be on site for
most of the tournament, or ensure
that shifts are
covered.
Advertising and/or media
relations: Someone is needed
to book Nepean Sportsplex billboard
and write a message for the billboard.
puts up banners over doors. Media
relations: write a press release,
contact media in French and/or
English. Press releases used last
year are available on request.

Team Ontario vs Quebec
Teams, Nov 9-11
Submitted by Sharon
Lapins
This past weekend, many of our female
Titans athletes participated in the Team
Ontario Try-out Camp in Montreal.
Our athletes included Lisa Sharp,
Stephanie Lessard, Annie Chinneck,
Rachel Stein, Stephanie Le Saux-Farmer,
Evie Marshall, Gillian Massel, Emily
Hodgson, Maria Lapins, Michelle
Langstaff, Nathalie Gallant, Audrey
Caron, Danielle Hirsh and Rebekka
Steenkamer making up more than half of
the two Team Ontario teams. Very
impressive!
With Head Coach Christi
Bardecki unable to attend due to
prior commitments, Team Ontario teams
were coached by assistant
coaches Mara Madden and Megan
Whittle. The camp took place at
the DDO Civic Centre and the Olympic
Stadium, consisting of several games
against U18 CAMO and DDO teams.
The Quebec teams did not fail to deliver
some tough competition!
Our athletes also had a special training
session with the Junior and Senior
National Team coaches including Pat
Oaten. With Pat's very
approachable style, he offered many of
our athletes one-on-one tips to help to
refine their abilities in the game.
The next Team Ontario Try-Out Camp will
be held on the weekend of Nov. 30th-Dec
2nd in Toronto. Best of luck to
all Titans athletes!
