DDO Classic Tournament Report, Nov 16-18
Submitted by Sharon Lapins

Several of our female Titans athletes participated in the DDO Classic Tournament this past weekend in both the Cadet and Junior events.   All of the competition that our teams faced was tough and very intense including DDO, CAMO and Storm from Vancouver.

The main objective of our participation in this tournament was to assess how our new training program has affected our athletes on many levels including fitness and skills as well as their overall confidence.   Particularly with regard to fitness, our athletes were able to keep up with the fast pace of the games proving that all of those hours of swimming at the beginning of our season have given them fantastic endurance for this level of play.

Coached by Rob Tarnoczy and Kasia Hart, both Cadet and Junior teams came out strong giving their opponents some worries for the upcoming season of tournaments.  Although results were not the focus of this event for us, our Junior team beat Storm in their first game against them placing the Titans firmly at the top of the list of teams to beat.

Great job, girls!

GO TITANS!

Titans Selected for Junior Pan American Championships

Pierre Fiset informed the news that Water Polo Canada has announced the selection of the junior men's national teams to take part in the Junior Pan-Pacific games.  Congratulations go out to Titans John Conway and Lyle Brooks who have been named in the top 26 to participate, along with other athletes from Hull and across the country.  The event will take place in California and will include joint training with the USA and will run from December 26th 2007 to January 4th 2008.  For a list of all athletes named, feel free to reply to this email and I can send you the complete list.
