Loblaws Cards for December
Submitted by Evelyn LaRoche
Please be advised that the December Loblaws cards
might be delayed for a few days as the delivery of the cards from Montreal
has been delayed and I have not received them yet. I will try my best to
have them with me at Ottawa U this weekend for those athletes not
participating in out of town training or tournaments. Look for me there
Saturday around 5pm. Stay tuned for other times to get your cards next
week. If you need to reach me, you can contact me at
loblaws@titanswaterpolo.ca.
New Titans Web Site Ready for Beta Testing!
Submitted by John Chinneck
The new Titans web site is now up and running at
http://www.titanswaterpolo.ca/2007/.
It is currently in draft mode, before becoming the official site in a few
weeks. Webmasters John Chinneck and Greg Sidebottom invite the Titans
community to browse the new site and help debug it before it goes live.
Please browse through the site and send the webmasters your comments and
suggestions, along with any reports of errors or omissions. You can
reach John using
webmaster@titanswaterpolo.ca
or Greg using
gsidebottom@gmail.com.
Some notes on the new site:
-
The photo on the home page is chosen randomly from a selection that John
and Greg happen to have. If you have a couple of interesting photos that
might be good candidates for the front page gallery, by all means send
them along to the webmasters.
-
Some of the pages are not yet filled in, but content is expected to be
provided soon.
-
Both the old and the new site will run in parallel for the next few
weeks. After Dec. 16, maintenance of the old site will be
discontinued and the
www.titanswaterpolo.ca
address will open the new site. The old site will continue to
exist, but will not be updated after that date.
Editor's note: A
BIG thank you goes out to
John Chinneck,
Greg Sidebottom and
Nicola Vulpe for all their hard work on
the new website! This was a major task to undertake and I hope you
take the time to look through the website and give your feedback and any
content you think is relevant.
Titan's Cup Tournament January 25-27th, 2008
Submitted by Sue Sidebottom, Tournament Director
We are making plans for this year's Titan's Cup tournament! The format
for this year's event is slightly different than previous years, with
changes based on key LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) principles that
our club and Ontario Water Polo are promoting. The changes will allow
more athletes to participate, with four divisions being offered (including
an all-girls division as well as a primarily Atom-aged division). More
information is available at:
http://titanswp.hypermart.net/2007/id8.html
under the Titan's Cup link.
Volunteers Needed! I have volunteered to be tournament director
for Titan's Cup. Let me know if you can help out by emailing me at
ssidebottom@gmail.com.
Some of the main tasks we need volunteers to coordinate are:
-
hospitality suite coordinator
-
tournament booklet
-
sponsorship coordination (for advertising in the tournament booklet)
-
minor officials coordinator
-
media relations person (one each for French and English)
I have lots of templates and information from previous years, which are
easily reusable again this year. Please don't hesitate to contact me
if you'd like more information on what is needed for any of the above
tasks. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!
