Referee Clinic This Sunday
As part of competitive registration, ALL AA and AAA
athletes are required to volunteer as referees in either the ILWP/ Academy or
Recreational House League Games. If you haven't already taken a clinic, it's
not too late to sign up for the clinic this weekend held:
- Sunday, October 19, 3:30-5:30pm at Nepean Sportsplex
in Hall E
All participants will be provided with a whistle, a
copy of FINA rules, and a copy of the ILWP adapted rules.
There is no cost to
participants (paid for by our CIAF grant) and the clinics will be
faciliated by Titans Coach Celso Rojas.
Parents are welcome to participate (including parents
of ILWP/ Academy/ Rec House League athletes).
Canadian Select League Water Polo Season Opens Next
Weekend in Montreal
The Canadian Select League opens its
3rd season at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal,
Quebec the weekend of October 23-26, 2008. The
CSL features the top 43 female athletes in the country.
Some of our Titans club members or former club members currently playing with
the CSL include Maria Lapins, Evie Marshall and Rebekka
Steenkamer. The CSL has the defending CSL Champion West
Coast Wild Cats playing the Central Senators in the season
opener. The Senators team is comprised of athletes
born in '91 or later, who make up the Canadian Women's Junior National
Team. The Junior Women made Canadian water polo
history this past summer as they defeated the United States at the Junior Pan
American Games to win the gold medal for the first time.
