Trip to
Hungary with the Youth National Team, August 2007
Contributor: Rachel Stein
For the first three weeks of August, I was training with the Youth National
Team. Our training camp began with us meeting in Montreal and discovering
that our trip to the Youth Pan Am Games in Santo Domingo was cancelled.
Instead, we headed off to Eger, Hungary to play and train with the Eger
club team, one of the best in their country. As a team, we learned from
our coaches, Jeff and James, how to play water polo at an international level
with new training and tactics. During our final two games against our
Hungarian opponents, we won one game and lost the other, each by one point.
The entire trip was an excellent experience filled with new friends, old
castles and water polo.
